We've started lit circles. Students have chosen from The Outsiders, Forbidden City, and Throwaway Daughter. Groups have made their reading calendars and have different roles/preparation for their lit circles.
CE
We are working on Jacob now. We started by watching a Jacob video then got into groups to brainstorm what we know then read from Genesis and add to our notes.
SS
We are working on 3 more dynasties of China (from Chapter 13 in the textbook): Song, Yuan, and Ming. We started by dividing the section on the Song Dynasty into 4 parts and creating Cornell notes. Groups then got together to make master notes for their section. These will be photocopied and distributed to the class. The next task is to read the section on the Yuan (Mongol) dynasty (414-418) and complete questions 1-3 on page 418.

For Monday - Finish the reading and questions for SS.
For Tuesday - Complete the reading and lit circle preparation for your group.
