Revise your story to ensure you have met all the criteria (theme evident, conflict, setting, irony).

Reflection: Choose either the reflection question on page 42 or one of the two reflection questions on page 43 and write a dialogue or paragraph.

(Nov. 17) We did Cornell notes using others' questions. I collected them and will redistribute them next day.

EN

We discussed AR options: books, ebooks, iBooks, audio books. Go to your library's website and download audio books.

We went over setting and its importance in "Sentry." We also reviewed the questions for the story and discussed the story's theme.

HW: Keep working on your short story, making sure to three good examples of your theme. Read "The Decision" (pp. 67-78) and answer on page 79 questions 1-4. 6, 7. Also, describe the conflict (person vs. _______).

CE

We read from Genesis (chapters 12-18) and the related pages in the textbook (39-42).

HW: Start a family tree for Abraham (Abram). Do it by hand or on the computer. Your paper should be landscape, not portrait style. So far, you should have Abraham (Abram) m Sarah (Sarai) and their child Isaac as well as a link between Abraham and Hagar and a line indicating their child Ishmael.

We looked over "Agnes" and worked on discussing character.

You also received a creative writing prompt. You are to complete the first two columns on the character traits chart (names/traits) so that on Monday, you can do some creative writing using your brainstorming.

Nov. 9: Presentations start
Presentations should be about 10 minutes long. Aim for between 7-15, and you'll be fine. Be sure to practice with your group, and remember that the slides should be simple, easy to read, and add to your overall presentation. I will make my classroom available for practice at break and lunch as well as on Wednesday morning (Nov. 9) from 8:00-9:10 (late start).

Nov. 4 - CE comic strip is due. It will also be the last day in the library for working on your World Religions project. The notes are due on Monday, Nov. 7. The presentations will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 9.
