Oct. 28

We are currently working on a few things.

English: We're starting short stories. We will continue to review parts of speech and have a parts of speech test on Nov. 10. The short story we read today was "A Secret for Two." We focused on foreshadowing and how we would cope if we were to lose an important sense.

CE: Comic strip is due Nov. 4. You will have class time to work on it on Monday in B block. We have Show and Share (Paolo and April John) on Monday in B block. We're going to finish up this section of CE with the Tower of Babel then have a test.

SS: We're working on a World Religions research/presentation project. Notes will be due Nov. 7. Presentations will take place Nov. 9 and 10.

We did a formative quiz on prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections. We also looked at short story elements.

EN: We went over adverb homework, listened to "The Logical Song" and filled in the blanks with adjectives and adverbs, identified adjectives and adverbs in sentences, and got homework for Tuesday, Oct. 18: Write a short paragraph using 10 adverbs from the adverbs handout.
