Exams and Christmas

Don't forget your exams!

English: Dec. 13 at 11:00, arrive by 10:30
CE: Dec. 14 at 8:30, arrive by 8:00
SS: Dec. 17 at 11:00, arrive by 10:30

Study Tips:
  • Plan your study times.
  • Plan to study for 30-60 minutes at a time, taking 10-15 minute breaks in between.
  • Switch up what you're studying. If you're studying for CE and take a break, do a little SS or Science.
  • Don't try to cram everything in at once.
  • Get plenty of rest...no all-nighters!
  • Eat healthy foods, balancing protein, fat, and good carbs (not potato chips and pie).
  • Drink lots of water, not energy drinks or Gatorade. You don't need the sugar, and you certainly don't need the caffeine.
  • Visualise yourself doing really well on your exams.
  • Don't panic or stress out.  It's just an exam.
Over Christmas break:
  • Spend time with your family and friends, not X-Box or Facebook.
  • Read for pleasure and to get ahead with your AR requirements.
  • Get some exercise to combat the ill effects of over-indulging in that Christmas baking.
  • Go to Mass.  Remember, both Christmas and New Year's are holy days of obligation (meaning you're really supposed to go to Mass those days).
  • Remember those less fortunate and do one good deed to help those in need, whether that's giving some of your Christmas chocolates to Agape Street Ministry, visiting a retirement home to play games with some of the elderly there, or buying some food for a person pan-handling on the corner.  There are many kind acts you can do.  Choose one.
  • Make a New Year's resolution to improve yourself, for example: stop using foul language; respect and listen to your parents; befriend someone who struggles to fit in; don't gossip...There are many things we do that we shouldn't or don't do that we should.  Choose one and vow to change.
