Jan. 30 - Social Studies

We worked on the questions from previous class, focusing on gender roles in the Middle Ages and the role of the Church.

Jan. 19 - Middle Ages Project

We did research in the library.

We had a combo class today, working on CE and SS because of block D being devoted to research for your Middle Ages project.

CE - We worked on our pre-test questions (Jacob). HW: good copy of family tree due Friday; finish pre-test questions if you didn't complete them in class (up to the name of the youngest brother).

SS - We went over the questions from last day and continued reading in the textbook about the Manor.

We did pages 9-11 in the workbook: fact vs. opinion and writing about characters.
We started the next section of reading: ch. 8-12.

HW: Finish up to the end of chapter 12 (p. 85) for Tuesday. Complete the Current Events assignment (p. 6 of workbook) for Monday. Finish the discussion questions for Tuesday if not completed in class.

Jan. 9 - CE

We continued reading the Bible and textbook regarding Jacob. HW: textbook review questions on p. 51 (due Jan. 11); be sure you have your family tree updated to include ALL of Jacob's children (and their mothers). (Family tree not yet due)

Jan. 9 - English

We discussed the movie, Holes and read about and listened to Janis Joplin and the Beatles as pre-reading activities for Small Steps. We started reading Small Steps. Have up to ch. 3 (p. 25) finished for next class (Jan. 11). Reminder: Current Events sheet (p. 6) due Jan. 16.

English - We got our novel study booklets and books: Small Steps. We started watching Holes. Homework: Journal question on p. 5 due Monday, Jan. 9; current events assignment on p. 6 due Monday, Jan. 16. CE - We read about Jacob from his birth to the birth of Joseph. Homework: Add to the Abraham family tree to include Jacob's wives and concubines and all the children.
